Well, here's the quotes that are in the madlibs. Some are full sections, and I think two are missing a little at the end from what was in the episode, but are on my quotes page if you're interested in seeing those.
Madcrawler Monolib 1 -- Be My Valentine
Love. A blip on the monitor of involuntary human response. A hiccup of emotion when compared with envy, hatred, lust. And just who was this St. Valentine? A bishop. Roman, third century, got his head sliced off. Ouch. For marrying lovers against his emporer's decree. You see, Cladius II believed that men made better warriors unmarried. Power comes with the absence of love. Love drains us of our strength. We never learn, do we. And you say that love conquers all. Well not for you, St. Valentine, not for me, not for any of the...heartbroken.
Madcrawler Monolib 2 -- The Code
Tonight your nightcrawler is ruminating on friendship. I say a friend for life is a leech. Someone who bleeds you. There is no real or lasting friendship, and no one is to be trusted. Who will challenge me on this? Who does not believe that all friendships must sour, slowly, imperceptibly, commandant de la cloche. And that in the end, it's not the big lie that turns us into mortal enemies, but the little white lies that drive the wedges between us, poison our loyalty, and blight our trust. Do you not agree? Let's discuss it then. Friends.
Madcrawler Monolib 3 -- Curiouser and Curiouser
Guilt is for the weak. To harbour it is to deny yourself freedom. To be a captive, a slave. The strong know this. They do what must be done and think nothing of the consequences. And so they survive...free. Agree or disagree. Discuss. And who have we here?
Madcrawler Monolib 4 -- A More Permanent Hell
Life will always find a way to cheat death. Life is the enemy we cannot defeat, only cling to like parasites on the living flesh of the universe, hoping that we're not noticed and brushed away with a flick of the hand.
Madcrawler Monolib 5 -- Last Knight (Beginning)
Life is a gift, as sweet as a ripe peach, as precious as a gilded jewel. I have never been able to understand the logic of willfully surrendering such a treasure. And what is there to gain? How dark can your existence be when compared to an eternal void? Unless, of course, you have faith that there is something beyond.
What do you see from where you stand? A bright light at the end of the tunnel? Is it a ray of hope? A glimmer of something better? Or will it burn you like the rising sun? Is that sound you're hearing the trumpeting of St. Peter's angels or the screams of Memnoch's tortured souls?
You can't answer that, can you? Because you will never know the answer, until after the deed is done. And is your faith really that strong?
I understand the need to move on. It is something that happens to us all, and your time has truly come. I also understand that with the beauty of this life, there comes pain and despair. No one is immune. But consider what you have in your hands before you give it up. Don't trade a treasure for an empty box.
Madcrawler Monolib 6 -- Last Knight
Love. It warps our senses, twists our souls...can take us past hope, past cure, past help. I know about love: it's suffering, it's anguish, it's pain. Heaven makes means to kill our joy with love. And yet we must have it, at any cost. But are you so enamored that you'll overlook your love of life? And you do love it. I've seen you smell the sea, gaze at the stars at night. Are you willing to sacrifice one mistress for another? Look into your heart and tell me that you're willing to make the choice.
Madcrawler Monolib 7 -- Black Buddha I
Who knows the pain of death better--he who gasps his final breath, or those of us who must breathe the foul air of his decomposition? Who bears the greater burden--the cold bones of the dead man in his coffin, or the spine of the pallbearer carrying his load? No one knows this burden better than we, dear listener, we who have seen so many pass. I see you sagging, laden. And yet, I have to ask, is it grief that weighs so heavily on your shoulders, or is it that should've, would've, could've fool's game called guilt?
Madcrawler Monolib 8 -- Trophy Girl
They say no two persons are alike. Never is that more true than when it comes to our desires. Some cherish what others abhor. One man's precious cargo, is another man's poison. Some prize what others revile. Prize what you will, prize what you can, but always remember, even he who dies with the most prizes...still dies.
Madcrawler Monolib 9 -- My Boyfriend is a Vampire
Love. How it toys with us, makes utter fools of us, flogs, whips, and spanks us. Listen to the voices of the unloved as they surge and retreat in the night. Whispered in empty rooms and lonely beds, the hunger of love unattained, rushing through our fingers, unstoppable, fleeting, gone. And yet, when we touch this love it burns us with its bright flame, it punishes and consumes. And yet we must have it. It rules us: uses, abuses, misuses. And yet, why do we always crawl back for more?
